To save me searching, does anyone know where I might find online data about today's rainfall, like how much there was and where it fell?

Try metoffice.com and go to latest/recent past - observations. You should find graphs covering the last 24h for each station.

Got that, ta. I was Wondering how much rain had fallen in North Wales yesterday so I could make a guess at what the Severn will do this week.

Looks like gardening then!

Not sure about Wales, but the Lake District had some serious rain on Sunday - Windermere came up by a foot.

Severn rising all the way along...

Lots to do at home, if the river was right I'd be only be getting into trouble for not doing all the jobs I've promised to do this month.

Going to Walton PAC tonight to show them lots of pictures and tell them all my zander jigging secrets.

4ft up and rising down here.

I'll have to tidy up the tackle. (Don't laugh, Kelly!)

Leaders and stingers to make, plastics to repair, lots of fishy things to do.

Looking at the CFax weather forecast for tomorrow I went through the 24 hour sequence on the regional map. The sunshine they had showing for today bore no resemblance to the leaden-grey clouds outside. If they can't even tell me what it's doing now what chance have they of guessing about tomorrow?

No matter, I don't care what the weather does because I'm going anyway.

A grey and grisly November day, the dawn couldn't be bothered with all that breaking nonsense so it just warped a bit, it got light about midday for a couple of hours!

Ah well it had to happen I suppose heavy rainfall and a rising river. Typical, I have really been getting to grips with my local perch population and now it may well be all over for a while.

Worryingly there has been a big fish (perch) kill up at Farmoor reservoir. Reports suggested 10,000 fish in their intake pipes. I am not sure if they have died in the river or the ressie. There was no mention of the size of the fish or if any trout were affected. I hope it is either localised, or seasonal and not a return of the perch virus.

Time to get the barbel rods out

Severn was perfect yesterday (when I was busy elsewhere) but rising again this morning, will be unfishable tomorrow and for the next few days at least.

Still, at least the shed's getting tidier.

Apart from shed tidying and gardening I have been sorting out my PC. It's been very slow and unreliable for ages, and getting worse. I diagnosed what was wrong after checking loads of things and fixed it with an extra 1Gb of RAM. So easy - even for me!
